Getting started

How does this work?

If the free call goes well for both of us, we meet in 55-minute sessions, usually weekly or every other week, over Zoom or in person in LA. Then we get to it.

Do you have room?

Not always. I keep the practice small so each person gets real attention, and spots open when someone finishes. If it’s full when we talk, I’ll tell you when the next one opens.

How do I know if it’s right for me?

If you’ve read this far, there’s a decent chance it is. Coaching’s for you if you’re capable, a little stuck, and ready to do something about it. Not sure? That’s exactly what the free call is for. For both of us.

What if I don’t know what I want yet?

That’s a completely normal place to start, and it’s half of what we’d work on. You don’t need a tidy answer before the first call. Bring the mess, that’s genuinely more useful.

Money

How much does it cost?

$375 a session. Sessions are 55 minutes, weekly or every other week, on Zoom or in person in LA. Packages bring it down: 10 sessions are $3,375 ($337.50 a session), and 20 are $6,000 ($300 a session). No minimum. Many people start with one. Sometimes a company’s development budget covers it, and I can invoice them directly. And if after your first paid session, you don’t feel it was valuable, I’ll refund it. Including a whole package, if you bought one. Otherwise, unused package sessions aren’t refunded. Corporate training and speaking are quoted per event. The free call is the best place to figure out what makes sense for you. No hard sell, promise.

Is there really a guarantee?

There is, and I mean it. If after your first paid session, you don’t feel it was valuable, I’ll refund it. Including a whole package, if you bought one. For any reason. I don’t want your money if I can’t help you.

Do I have to commit to a package?

No. Plenty of people start with a single session and decide from there. A package is a discount for committing to a set number of sessions, so it makes sense once you know you want to keep going.

Can my company pay for it?

Often, yes. Some companies pay for (or contribute to) coaching from a professional development budget, and I can invoice them directly. It’s worth asking your manager or HR before you decide. Ask on the free call and I’ll send you a short email to forward to your manager.

What if I don’t use all my package sessions?

Packages are discounted because you’re committing to them, so unused sessions aren’t refunded. The exception is the guarantee: if after your first session you don’t feel it was valuable, I’ll refund the whole package. For any reason.

How it runs

Online or in person?

Both. Most coaching happens over Zoom, so we can work together from anywhere in the world. If you’re in LA and prefer in person, we can do that too.

How often would we meet?

Most people meet weekly or every other week, in a time slot that’s yours. Real change likes a steady rhythm more than the occasional heroic burst.

How long do people typically work with you?

It depends. Some people come in for one goal and are done in three months. One client has been with me six years, because it’s become part of how they think and operate. Either way, if I ever think you don’t need me anymore, I’ll say so.

Is this right for me?

Is the free call a sales call?

No. It’s thirty minutes to see if I can help, what support you need, and whether we’re the right fit for each other. If I don’t think I’m the right person, I’ll say so on the call and point you to someone who is.

I’ve tried coaching or self-help before and it didn’t stick. Why would this be different?

Because a book can’t ask you a follow-up question, a podcast doesn’t notice when you’re rationalizing, and friends usually don’t ask the harder questions. Accountability is the part self-help can’t do alone. And I make the work fun, so you’ll actually want to show up.

Is this the same as therapy?

Nope, though they’re cousins. Therapy usually looks back to heal; coaching looks forward to build. We focus on where you want to go, what’s in the way, and the steps to get there, with someone in your corner holding you to it. And if therapy’s what you need, I’ll say so and help you find the right person.

Is this consulting? Will you tell me what to do?

Not consulting: there’s no forty-slide deck, and no strategy you had no hand in building. But I don’t just ask questions and leave you in the silence. I’ll ask first, and when it helps I’ll tell you what I’d do in your position, or what I’ve seen work. You know what you want better than I do, and your instinct is what I default to.

What if I’m not sure I’m ready?

Then the call costs you thirty minutes and nothing else. Plenty of people book one, decide the timing’s wrong, and come back a year later. That’s a completely reasonable outcome.

Still have questions? Let’s talk.

Thirty minutes usually gets further than reading can. Worst case, you get a free half-hour of thinking out of it.
